Abandon Editorial Welcomes Producer Marcee Sanchez

Mar. 04, 2025

Managing Partner/Co-Founder Jonny Mass and Editor/Co-Founder Edward Khoma of Abandon Editorial are thrilled to announce that Producer Marcee Sanchez has joined the team. With a creative background in fashion and experience assisting in architectural projects with a focus on interior finishes, Marcee approaches post-production with a deep appreciation for collaboration and a leadership style that prioritizes kindness and the people behind the work. Her producing experience includes projects for Expedia, Hilton, Apple, Montefiore and many others.

Marcee shared:

“I’ve learned so much through collaboration and producing has been a way to fully embrace that. It allows me to connect with people, navigate challenges with kindness, and embrace the collaborative spirit I value deeply. Abandon stood out to me as a place that not only values great work but also nurtures its people. Seeing the way Abandon’s values align so closely with the kind of environment I want to grow in made this decision feel like the right next step. From my very first conversation with Jonny, I knew this was a team I wanted to be a part of.”

After an early career in fashion as a Creative Director, Marcee explored various creative fields before finding her calling in commercial production. In 2021, she landed a role as Production Coordinator with Cosmo Street Editorial where she quickly fell in love with the fast-paced, collaborative nature of post production. Recognizing the parallels between her past experiences in fashion and the world of commercial production, she worked her way up to Associate Producer with her first major job for Expedia via Weiden+Kennedy, before becoming a fully-fledged producer.

Jonny expressed:

“Marcee brings an incredible mix of drive, curiosity and kindness—qualities that are essential to what we’re building at Abandon. From day one, it was clear that she not only had an incredibly positive energy and commitment to learning the craft, but also embodies the collaborative and respectful spirit we value. She and Joanna make a fantastic team and we’re excited to support her as she continues to grow with us.”

Previously working closely with Executive Producer Joanna Hall at Cosmo Street, Marcee honed her skills and gained a deeper understanding of production. Joanna’s guidance and mentorship played a pivotal role in shaping her approach, and when the opportunity to join Abandon Editorial presented itself, it felt like a natural evolution.

Joanna added:

“I couldn’t be more thrilled about Marcee joining the Abandon team. She is exactly what we need—organized, friendly, and always eager to help. She knows the business well and still continues to grow with every new project.”
