Ad of the Day | McDonald's Canada Celebrates Grand Moments in a Grand Way
Nov. 01, 2021
It’s long been in McDonald’s Canada’s DNA to deliver feel-good moments or a little “bubble of happiness” to its guests. Grand openings or new and reimagined restaurants provide unique opportunities for McDonald’s to create those moments.
To mark these special occasions, Cossette created a series of visuals that embody the playful joy of celebrations.
Information about creative approach:
-
Each visual in the Grand Openings series is a playful representation of an iconic McDonald’s Canada menu item, including the classic Big Mac, Fries, the McFlurry, and the Egg McMuffin.
-
Nine-foot-tall structures were erected using hundreds of balloons—the ultimate symbol of celebration.
-
By photographing real balloon structures, Cossette was able to add depth and texture to the print. The goal was to leverage the warm, positive feelings balloons typically bring.

Chuck Coolen, Senior Marketing Manager, Eastern Canada at McDonald’s Canada, said:
“Putting a smile on someone’s face is always a worthy pursuit. It is especially precious in times like these. We’re thrilled to welcome guests to our new restaurants by creating a fun and inviting environment through our Grand Openings creative approach.”
