Ad of the Day | What's it Like to Drive Without a Windshield?
Jun. 05, 2024
Drivers don't normally envision cars without windshields, but Auto Glass Now – a division of Driven Brands – shows exactly what they might look like in its hilarious new “No Windshield” ad campaign. With indelible visuals and witty one-liners, the campaign’s four vignettes drive home the importance of top-quality windshields and windows in funny, unforgettable ways.
In the spot entitled “Phone,” for example, a family of three speeds down the road in a windshield-free car, their mouths stuck open and their hair blowing wildly. The father implores his wife to “call Auto Glass Now,” but before she can dial, a strong wind sweeps the phone from her hand and into thin air. “We have to go to the phone store first,” she deadpans.
In a second spot, “Alive,” two pals careen down the highway in a similarly windshield-less vehicle. “Doesn’t the wind make you feel so alive?” shouts the driver, barely able to hold onto the steering wheel. “I can’t feel my face!” his friend yells back.
Kyle Ankrom, Auto Glass Now, Vice President of Marketing said:
"Our first campaign as a fully integrated Auto Glass Now is purposefully bold and humorous to break through and bring something fun and distinct to the category; showing the personality behind the brand."
Ankrom said:
"Beyond the humor, we believe the campaign affirms Auto Glass Now’s speed of service promise. It’s built into our name -- we’re Auto Glass Now, not auto glass later. That’s the key benefit we focus and deliver on, and that’s why when you see the spot and hear the jingle, it’s all about ‘we can get your auto glass serviced now!’"
Auto Glass Now collaborated on the cheeky creative with award-winning advertising agency Erich and Kallman.
