Colorado Lottery and Cactus Mark Conservation Month With Wild New Campaign

Oct. 05, 2023

October is Colorado Lottery Conservation Month, and to honor their commitment nature conservation the Colorado Lottery has launched it’s newest campaign, created by long-time agency partner Cactus, that features the new TV spot "Wilderness Convenience,” as well as radio, digital OOH, social, digital, web, and digital POS.

With the goal of helping Coloradans discover all the Colorado Lottery does to positively impact the places they work, live, and play, "Wilderness Convenience” depicts with a young woman wandering into a convenience story to buy a lottery ticket only to discover the store has been mysteriously transformed into an idyllic forrest. As she makes her way to the check-out counter she encounters a snow-covered a mountain climber, bikers, hikers, kayakers, and an unseen creature fighting the store clerk for a lottery ticket.

For the Cactus creative team this campaign was an exciting opportunity to visualize and directly correlate how Colorado Lottery’s proceeds positively impact their day-to-day routines in a magical way. The team did an incredible job connecting the outdoors into a convenience store to blend the lifestyles of hikers, mountain climbers, and more with something as routine as purchasing a drink, a snack, or Colorado Lottery tickets.

Patrick Campbell, Cactus Creative Director, said:

"At our heart, we are a conservation organization, and the more we can connect how playing the Lottery benefits all Coloradans, the more impact we can have. That is what this magical spot is all about celebrating the two worlds games and conservation coming together."
