Creative Team Luke + Tom Join Five by Five

Mar. 16, 2021

Independent creative and production agency Five by Five has welcomed creative team Luke + Tom.

Luke Gray began his career in the industry after graduating with a degree in Creative Advertising in 2019. Since then, he’s had creative placements and freelanced for agencies including M&C Saatchi London and Agency Space. Tom Carr, meanwhile, cut his teeth creating content for intimate, a cryptocurrency startup, before freelancing as a creative copywriter for a range of clients.

The London-based team is focused on pushing the boundaries of representation in the media and bringing awareness to underrepresented communities. They are passionate about the representation and presence of the LGBTQ+ community across the arts and media, educating and empowering younger generations about diversity and opening the door for future conversations about identity. For Luke + Tom, working as a team allows the creatives to combine their key strengths in art direction and copywriting. Having two unique outlooks offer dual perspectives on briefs and campaigns, providing fresh insights and support that may be less accessible from a single creative.

Tom Carr comments:

“One of the reasons we chose to join Five by Five was because of Ravi & Andy [UK creative directors] - and the creative vision they had for the agency. With the team scaling up in London, we really connected with their ambitions and plans for the future. Our experience so far has been really exciting; it’s been hands-on, involved, and we’ve already won our first pitch. Having worked at start-ups in the past, I really appreciate a collaborative mentality where everyone is able to pitch in and feel like part of the team. It’s clear that Five by Five has this same energy.”

Luke Gray adds:

“We’re so excited to join Five by Five. We already feel like part of the team and have got the freedom to make the work we want to make whilst being proactive and pushing the company forward. Five by Five has real ambition and produced such impressive work last year in the face of a global pandemic, so we can’t wait to help take the team forward in 2021.”

Ravi Beeharry and Andy Mancuso, creative directors at Five by Five UK, comment:

“We're both really excited to be adding Luke and Tom to our creative team at Five by Five. They’re a pair of truly brilliant thinkers with great energy and drive. On top of this, they share our ambitions on creating great work. We can’t wait to see what they have in store for us this year.”
