Design, Immersive and VFX Studio Boma Launches in Los Angeles
Jul. 17, 2024
Boma, a new breed of a fully-remote studio specializing in Visual Effects, Design and Immersive, proudly announces its official launch. Founded by ECD Jonah Hall and EP Jason Cohon, the Los Angeles-based studio offers a dynamic solution to the ever-changing digital production landscape.
Boma was created to fill a need for quicker turnarounds and tighter budgets while maintaining quality at the highest creative level. Specializing in visual effects, animation, editorial, finishing and motion graphics, as well as creative direction for any project, Boma’s 100% remote pipeline and global partnerships on three continents and U.S.-based senior creative talent allows for rapid scaling of projects on any budget and timelines.
Boma Founder and ECD Jonah Hall shared:
“Building teams and securing technology for post, VFX, animation and other forms of digital production is a completely different process now. It all started with COVID and continued to decentralize from there. We’re essentially rebuilding ourselves to meet this new reality and help clients get through it all.”
Boma has quickly gotten to work delivering a project for Amazon Music. A longstanding relationship with Stept and Lockt Editorial was a natural partnership for Amazon Music’s reimagining of Anderson.Paak’s 2016 hit single “Celebrate” to create “Destination.Paak - The Lexus GX Remix.” Boma provided special effects for emotive instruments, gravity-defying rock dancers and even the Lexus GX itself.

Boma EP Jason Cohon concluded:
"We are fans at heart and being able to work on music videos for artists we listen to is just plain fun. Having the ability to be nimble and scale to the project is our greatest asset. We would never have been able to put this project together as a brick-and-mortar shop. That power to say, ‘Yes!’ is what makes Boma unique."
