DoorDash and GUT Turn Every Excuse to Leave into a Reason to Stay

Dec. 11, 2025

DoorDash this week launched its newest campaign, “For Every Reason To Stay”, created in collaboration with GUT Los Angeles, capturing one of the most recognizable social moments of the Hispanic community: when someone tries to leave a gathering… and somehow never makes it out the door.

December brings peak at-home dinners, end-of-year get-togethers, and endless sobremesas, which also means endless attempts to say goodbye. Instead of treating convenience as a way to escape, this campaign flips the script: DoorDash becomes the reason people stay a little longer, delivering whatever could have been used as an excuse to leave.

In the film, a dinner guest quietly attempts his exit with classic lines: “I’m tired,” “I have to wake up early,” “I should go watch the game.” Each time, friends counter the excuse with a perfectly timed DoorDash order: cafecito arrives, beers appear, snacks drop, even a TV shows up for an on-the-spot watch party.

By the end, the guest finally accepts the truth: no one leaves a sobremesa on the first try. Or second. Or third.

Jennifer Richardi, Head of Brand & Creative at DoorDash said:

“The beauty of getting together is that gatherings never really end when you think they will. DoorDash is there for those extra hours and unplanned moments, delivering whatever keeps people lingering a little longer. This campaign is a reminder that we show up for every taste, every table, and every community we serve.”

Luz Arroyo, Creative Director at GUT said:

“As a Latina, I grew up in the world of endless goodbyes. So bringing that into a DoorDash spot made total sense — the brand already shows up at the exact moment the night needs something. This time, it just happened to be the thing that stops you from leaving.”

The campaign is rolling out across national digital platforms, programmatic video, and YouTube.
