Eurovision Winner is a Fantastical Faraway Queen in AI Artwork for New Single
Jun. 28, 2023
Great Guns director Tal Zagreba has used AI to create the artwork for Eurovision winner Netta’s new single, "Everything".
The dreamy pink and blue visual paints Netta as a regal figure in a distant land. Framed by fluffy clouds and forest trees, flowers sprout from her candyfloss-like hair, piled high on her head. Despite her majestic presence, she has a distant look on her face, as if reflecting on the past relationship explored in the song itself.
To create the artwork, Great Guns’ Tal Zagreba was played the song and asked to visually capture its dream-pop spirit. Upon first listen, Tal came up with the direction of soft surrealism, pastel colours, and a puffy atmosphere - with subtle undertones of melancholy.
Tal turned to Midjourney V5 to create the image and InsightFace to faceswap Netta into it, placing her in the centre as a queen of "Everything". Tal inputted prompts outlining his envisioned atmosphere - the colour palette, elements, lighting, textures, and camera details - improving the description after every image generation. Much like a director guiding a crew on set, Tal refined the prompts as the process went on to smooth out every last detail until the desired effect was achieved.
Tal Zagreba commented:
"I love being on set and making films and commercials the traditional way, but I’m full of anticipation for this emerging AI-driven era in the visual arts. I can’t wait to combine my skills as a director with the tools I use as an AI artist on commercial projects. These are really exciting times: every day a new technology comes to market and makes you realise new possibilities."
