Gerety Champagne Cocktail in Paris
The Gerety Champagne cocktails are touring this year bringing together the Gerety community around the world for networking drinks and a Gerety Talk panel
Last week Paris leading creatives joined the Gerety Awards with the support of Edelman France to celebrate the 2022 Gerety winners over a champagne cocktail and Gerety Talk panel. Edelman France won Bronze at this year’s Gerety with The Cost of Inequality for Fondation Des Femmes.
Moderated by journalist and writer Angela Natividad, Founder & President of Hurrah, the panel included:
- Mikki Brunner · Worldwide Executive Creative Director, Publicis Conseil
- Dimitri Guerassimov, CEO/CCO VMLY&R Paris & CCO EMEA WPP Colgate-Palmolive
- Lauren Haberfield · Executive Creative Director, Edelman Paris
All participants belonged to some of the French agencies rewarded at this year’s Gerety Awards:
VMLY&R Paris won a SILVER in the Health CUT for Smile Lines for Colgate, Publicis Conseil won a SILVER in the Work for Good CUT for Talks StopVEO and BRONZE in the Communication CUT for The Healthy Map for Carrefour and Edelman Paris won a BRONZE in the Work for Good CUT for The Cost of Inequality for Fondation des Femmes.

Mikki Brunner regarding the differences of working at a big 4 company versus small independent agencies, explained:
"What is interesting about working at a global brand like Garnier for me is scale and when thinking about how to make advertising that really mirrors the world we live in, it is really cool to see small shifts at a global scale because you start to see the meaning in image making and the responsibility that you might have and the way you can affect change."
When talking about the role and responsibility of advertising changing after covid Lauren Haberfield explained:
"I think it absolutely has changed because we have realized how much power we have as communicators. We have this role to communicate very impactful and creative stories to the world and engage people in topics they might not have engaged before but we also have the responsibility to not do any harm. I don’t think we should pretend what we do doesn’t matter because it does".
Regarding things happening outside of the advertising world, Dimitri Guerassimov explained:
"I am really jealous of what is happening in the fashion world because I feel they are really connecting to culture. What brands like Burberry, for example, are doing, everybody know about their films, it connects so well with the time and people and even creates a language in the whole heritage of street fashion. I am jealous about how fashion brands are being quick and agile in grabbing something and connecting to culture and I think this is something the advertising world should be doing".
Gerety Awards, co-founder Lucía Ongay, said:
"It was great to meet with the Parisian creative community, together with juries and the creatives behind winning campaigns that participated in the panel to celebrate the female vision of advertising".
The Gerety Champagne cocktails have toured the world this year, bringing together the Gerety community for networking drinks and a Gerety Talk panel in Berlin, London, Tokyo and Paris. Next stop is New York.
