HAMLET is the Perfect Frame for Maureen Hufnagel
May. 18, 2026
Award-winning production company HAMLET has signed Argentine director Maureen Hufnagel for representation in Belgium, France, China, Germany and the Netherlands.
A cinematic storyteller, Hufnagel is known for creating immersive, visually striking worlds that transform brand storytelling into unforgettable experiences. She has directed a string of commercial campaigns for high profile clients including HBO Max, McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Clarín Económico, Tecate, energy company YPF and streaming service Flow among others.
Hufnagel’s unique approach is shaped by a rich visual background spanning both advertising and photography. Prior to directing, she held senior creative roles at leading agencies including Grey, Saatchi & Saatchi and Young & Rubicam, where she developed a sharp conceptual approach to storytelling. Alongside this, her work as an experimental photographer - including being named champion of the prestigious Absolute Lomo Competition in London and holding a solo exhibition at Buenos Aires’ renowned MALBA Museum - continues to inform her distinctive visual language.
Based in Buenos Aires and working internationally, Hufnagel brings a craft-driven sensibility that fuses aesthetics, narrative and humour to projects for global audiences. Her work has been recognised at Cannes Lions, Clio, Berlin Commercial Festival, Ciclope Festival and Diente Awards, among others. In 2025, she was named Best Argentine Director at El Ojo de Iberoamérica International Festival and one of Ad Age’s Leading Women, and she has been selected as a Film Craft Juror for Cannes Lions 2026.
Jason Felstead, co-founder & executive producer, HAMLET said:
“The industry is evolving very fast and so are the tools we use as filmmakers. But at HAMLET, we still believe the directors who truly stand out are the ones capable of creating a real emotional connection with an audience. That’s what immediately drew me to Maureen’s work. Beyond the visual craft, there’s something deeply human in the way she captures people, humour and emotion. Her films feel honest, alive and emotionally grounded, and that sensitivity is exactly the kind of voice we want to continue building at HAMLET.”
Maureen Hufnagel, director, added:
“I’m thrilled to join HAMLET because it’s a place where craft and strong visual storytelling really matter, and where I feel I can truly thrive and push my work further.”
Her latest project, a music video-cum-short film for a Korean indie band shot in Mexico, is set for release later this month.
