Havas Peru Presents "Solar Octagons", New Campaign To Prevent Skin Cancer
Feb. 17, 2022
To reduce the prevalence of skin cancer and encourage the continued use of sunscreen, Havas Group Peru and the League Against Cancer launch "Solar Octagons".
Mauricio Fernández-Maldonado, Chief Creative Officer at Havas Group Peru explains:
"In Peru, as in several countries in the region, the law establishes that certain products must carry warning octagons to inform us about the risk of excessive consumption. The sun, which illuminates us and gives us life, in excess is also bad and, without taking care of ourselves, it can be very dangerous."
Solar Octagons presents various situations in which the sun is the protagonist and, at the same time, two octagons warning of the risk of exposure to it without sunscreen.
Adolfo Dammert, president of the League Against Cancer reflected:
"Skin cancer is a disease that we can prevent today. Only 15% of Peruvian households purchase sun protection products, that is, out of every 10 households, only 1.5 are protected against these harmful effects. Many times we are not aware that the damage we receive today may not be seen today but we can pay the consequences later. Let's enjoy the sun-protected!"
The campaign was launched on January 6 and will be valid for two months, it will have pieces on TV, digital, OOH, and BTL that will take place on the main beaches.
