Israel Accessibility Association Puts an End to Disabled Parking Misuse

Dec. 09, 2022

December 3rd 2022 marks the International Day of Disabled Persons. To honor this day, Israel Accessibility Association and the advertising agency, Leo Burnett, produced a film that aims to put an end to a common phenomenon that severely affects the availability of disabled parking spaces. The phenomenon is this: healthy people use the parking permit of a disabled member of their family to park in a disabled parking space.

The purpose of the video is to convey the message:

Using someone else's disabled permit is just as unethical as pretending to be disabled.

Just because you have a disabled permit for your car does not give you the right to park in a handicapped parking spot. Unless the holder of the entitled permit is in the vehicle with you, you are not allowed to park there.
