Feb. 27, 2025
Creative marketing company, John McNeil Studio, announced the promotion of Gerald Lewis to Chief Creative Officer, recognizing his key role in driving the overall growth of its integrated marketing business over the last two years. Lewis, who joined JMS in 2014 as Group Creative Director, most recently served as Co-Executive Creative Director, leading the creative practice across clients like Commvault, BMC, Palo Alto Networks and Google. Executive Creative Director of Brand Transformation and Experience, Kim Le Liboux, will step into a new role, partnering with John McNeil on new initiatives, while driving the expansion of the firm’s transformation and experiential design offerings, continuing to work closely with Lewis.
John McNeil, Founder and CEO of John McNeil Studio said:
“Gerald and I have been partners and friends since the beginning of our careers. He brings a rare combination of exceptional creativity and craft that is still what differentiates great marketing, especially in today’s increasingly automated, generic landscape. I can think of no better person to lead JMS into the next chapter.”
Over the course of his career, Lewis has won numerous awards including Cannes Lions, Art Directors Club, D&AD, and Communication Arts Design & Advertising Annual, among many others. He’s worked on global campaigns for brands such as IBM at Ogilvy and Microsoft at McCann Erickson, and led global creative for Dove at One Unilever. At JMS, Lewis most recently led Commvault’s rebrand, helping to grow its reputation and recognition as a global cyber resilience leader. He also spearheaded the rebrand and 50th anniversary celebration for Creative Growth, the first organization dedicated to supporting artists with developmental disabilities.
As Chief Creative Officer, Lewis will continue to oversee JMS’ unique approach to integrated marketing - bringing deep expertise in category creation and a track record of translating complex technology stories into compelling, human-centric narratives. In partnership with Sonia Minden, JMS Head of Strategy, Lewis will strengthen the interlock of creative and strategy to develop high-impact programs that drive real business outcomes for our clients.
Gerald Lewis, Chief Creative Officer at John McNeil Studio said:
“When I returned to JMS a few years ago, I had one clear mission: to build the best B2B agency in the world. Since then, we’ve deepened our strategic and creative partnerships, breaking down the traditional silos between strategy and creative. At JMS, these disciplines are inseparable—fueling smarter, more thoughtful work that’s delivering real results for our clients and earning industry recognition. The growth we’ve seen with Commvault has been extraordinary, while our partnerships with Google and Palo Alto Networks continue to expand. Momentum is on our side, and this is just the beginning—the next chapter will be even bigger.”
