Karma Scale – Tackling Food Waste in an Engaging and Approachable Way, Featuring D'Arcy Carden

Karma Scale is a sharp-witted, visually dynamic PSA tackling the environmental impact of food waste through the lens of comedy. Created in collaboration with Yellow Dot Studios, this spot features D’Arcy Carden and delivers an engaging approach to climate-conscious storytelling. Written by Casey Rand and directed by Stoney Sharp, Karma Scale makes the urgency of the food waste crisis both digestible and highly shareable.

Behind the making of this project is comedy director Stoney Sharp, known for his ability to craft comedic moments while keeping his storytelling visually rich and dynamic. With a background in narrative comedy  and commercial campaigns, Stoney collaborated with the Executive Producers at YellowDot to transform Karma Scale from a single-performer spot into a fast-paced spot filled with punchy facts, dynamic visuals and clever comedic moments. 

By incorporating VFX to animate the karma scale itself - blooming with good deeds and withering with bad - Stoney brings an innovative and unexpected layer to the message. His comedic instincts, honed from projects like Billy on the Street, Comedy Bang! Bang!, and collaborations with Judd Apatow and Sarah Silverman, elevate Karma Scale beyond a standard PSA into a fresh and surprising must-watch. 

With humour at its core, Karma Scale leaves audiences both entertained and empowered with real knowledge - emphasising that reducing food waste might just be the easiest way to tip the scales of karma back in your favour.
