Marushika Weaves Individuality into Film with "Spoken Patterns" Campaign
Oct. 14, 2025
Marushika, a fusion of Indian folk art with modern Western silhouettes, has unveiled its latest campaign, "Spoken Patterns", for the Autumn/Winter collection of 2025. The brand, in collaboration with creative production house Bigsea, brings to life the philosophy that has shaped its identity: artistry, authenticity, individuality, and interfusion.
A campaign born from insight
At the core of Marushika’s vision is the idea that patterns are not only visual, but deeply human. This insight forms the foundation of the new campaign, which connects the intricacies of Marushika's garments with the intangible patterns that define us our hearts, minds, and souls.
The brand’s Founder & Creative Director, Manisha Verma, explained:
"Spoken Patterns reflects our belief that fashion is not only about what is seen, but also about what is felt. Each Marushika piece is crafted as an expression of individuality — an intersection of heritage and modernity that allows women to embrace both who they are and where they come from. For us, patterns are a language of authenticity, and through this campaign, we translate that language into wearable art."
Craft and collaboration
The campaign marks another milestone for Bigsea, the Dubai-based creative production house behind several high-profile campaigns across the region. Known for its cinematic approach and bold storytelling, Bigsea helped translate Marushika’s brand pillars into a narrative that is at once intimate and universal.
Serge Asaad, Creative Director at Bigsea said:
"The question was, how do we turn our visual concept into a bold, editorial story? We knew it had to be edgy, but classy. The narrative had to be unapologetic and relevant to women across the world. The subtle parallelism here gives plenty for the viewer to dissect and dig into. Simple, impactful and as deep as you decide it to be."
Storytelling through film
Directed by Mazen Abusrour, the hero film unfolds in a minimalist set where a woman serves as a narrator. Her calm observations guide viewers through a series of moments in which Marushika’s models seamlessly blend into their surroundings, garments, and emotions. The pattern she points out wears our protagonists, and symbolizes the idea that it is all around us, as oblivious as we may be to it.
Each sequence draws a parallel between the visual patterns of the designs and the qualities of the wearer:
- The heart speaks patterns of kindness.
- The mind speaks patterns of strength.
- The soul speaks patterns of authenticity.
Mazen Abusrour added:
"Visually, I knew the striking contrast defines these films, from the moment I saw Marushika’s collection, the Madhubani art stood out and inspired my direction. We have two contrasting universes. The minimalist, and the patterns. I wanted each viewer to have their own interpretation. Which world is metaphorical? And which one is real?"
The film uses measured pacing, a cinematic lens, and subtle blending of set design and clothing to reinforce the campaign’s central message: Marushika is more than fashion; it is wearable art that mirrors life itself.
Ultimately these films empower the women that wear these patterns, embracing who they are and the place they come from.
Positioning Marushika
By weaving together craft, narrative, and philosophy, "Spoken Patterns" positions Marushika firmly as a Wearable Art Destination. The campaign not only underscores the brand’s commitment to meticulous craftsmanship — from embroidery to textile work — but also its belief in fashion as a form of emotional and spiritual expression.
