Matt Zion-Basile Joins Shortlist as Sales Rep

Oct. 02, 2025

West Coast talent representation company Shortlist MGMT is excited to announce the addition of Matt Zion-Basile as their newest Sales Representative. The move reflects Shortlist’s ongoing growth and commitment to evolving alongside a rapidly changing industry and increasingly diverse client needs.

Founded by Charlie McBrearty, Shortlist has established itself as a forward-thinking company driven by a progressive vision for representation. Charlie has forged many firsts for reps. He sits on the Board of Governors at the Television Academy and is co-chair of their  DEIA Committee, served as the first sales rep on a curatorial committee for AICP, and recently launched the AI for Advertising LinkedIn group. He continues to push the industry forward through advocacy, innovation, and community building. His decision to bring Matt into the fold underscores Shortlist’s commitment to pairing the right talent with brand opportunities while embracing new tools and perspectives.

Matt brings to Shortlist a wealth of experience as an Executive Producer and Head of Production, having worked closely with directors throughout his career. This background gives him a rare understanding of both the creative and logistical sides of commercial filmmaking—an invaluable asset in representing talent and aligning them with agency and brand partners.

Previously, Matt served as EP of New Business and Music Videos at live-action company Supply&Demand and as the West Coast sales rep for tabletop company Taste in Motion. With his arrival, Supply&Demand, Taste in Motion, and post-production house ODD join Shortlist’s roster, which already includes Tool, Cut+Run, Brand New School, Reverie, Beacon Street, and more.

Matt Zion-Basile said:

“This feels like the perfect fit—everything from working with these amazing clients to teaming up with Charlie to pair up brands with the right talent feels like this is where I’m meant to be to make the most impact on the industry. I’ve seen firsthand where production is heading, and I see this as a way to help some incredible companies navigate brand opportunities while they artistically innovate commercial films.”

Shortlist founder McBrearty said:

“Matt’s background in production is an absolute asset—he gets how everything works from the client side of commercial production. Combined with his passion for sales, forging meaningful connections, and his excitement for new technology and where branded filmmaking is heading, he is a powerful presence at Shortlist. We couldn’t be happier to have him on board.”
