OUIGO Launches Onboard Psychological Support to Address Holiday "Homecoming Syndrome"

Dec. 23, 2025

Christmas is here, and with it, the holiday campaigns. While most brands portray a highly stereotyped image of the season, idealizing the joy of reunions, OUIGO has broken the taboo. The company is shining a light on the less visible side of returning home for the holidays: a journey filled with mixed emotions such as stress, nostalgia, and family pressures. Feelings that can turn a long-awaited moment into a true emotional challenge.

To help address this issue, OUIGO is launching “Felices Vueltas” (“Happy Returns”), an experience conceived and developed by Havas Creative. On December 17, 18, 22, and 23, renowned professional psychologists such as Patri Psicóloga and Alicia González—who together have over 1.5 million followers on social media—will join passengers aboard OUIGO trains traveling between Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, and Málaga. They will offer conversations and practical advice to make the journey home more pleasant and stress-free.

Felices Vueltas: Support for those carrying an emotional backpack this holiday season.

The campaign stems from a survey conducted by OUIGO in collaboration with IPSOS Digital, asking: How does going home for Christmas really affect us? The results reveal that 7 out of 10 Spaniards experience what the company has defined as the "Homecoming Syndrome."

All passengers traveling on these dates will be able to enjoy the experience. After purchasing their ticket, they will receive an email to register and book a time slot during their trip.

With Felices Vueltas, OUIGO invites travelers returning home for Christmas to gift themselves a moment of pause and reflection, approaching the holidays with greater calm and serenity. This initiative highlights a rarely discussed reality and underscores the importance of emotional well-being—transforming the high-speed journey into a space of relief and tranquility amid the holiday rush.
