Park Pictures has signed director Greg Hackett for representation in the US and UK. Initially rising to prominence with his documentary short “Experiments in Speed,” which chronicled a friend’s attempt to cycle at 100mph behind an old Ford Zephyr, Hackett has become known for his beautifully composed films that capture the grit and splendor of the human experience.

Hackett found filmmaking through his previous career as a band frontman, which took him around the world. This global experience, paired with his instinctive artistry, has shaped Hackett’s cinematic style into one that’s naturalistic and detailed, with striking visuals and a musicality that's cinematic.

Following the viral success of “Experiments in Speed,” Hackett joined The New York Times Brand Studio, where he directed over 30 branded films, including “The Longest Night” for Philips, tracing the story of Icelandic fisherman Páll Pálsson. His documentary-film origins have translated into his scripted work, revealing stylized slice-of-life scenes that move every story forward.

His work in branded films and commercials has deepened while simultaneously directing music videos, such as “Hate” for Loyle Carner, and original documentaries like “Tam Tam – Outside The Lines,” which won Hackett a Cannes YDA Silver Screen. Other commercial collaborations include spots for Vodafone, The Royal Navy, RONA, Car Pass, Sony, Modelo, and Adidas, which stands out as Hackett’s most awarded work. “Hey Jude” for Adidas brought Hackett a Frank Budgen Award nomination for Best Director at the British Arrows, Gold for Best Director at the Creative Circles, Gold for Best Direction at the Clios, and further golds at Cannes, D&AD, One Show, and more.

Hackett on signing remarked:

“I’ve spent my career trying to make work that makes you feel something real. As I now concentrate on the stories I want to tell, I wanted a home that could hold that ambition, and Park has been making exactly the kind of work I aspire to: cinematic, human, impactful.Their directors are some of those I've looked up to since I started out, and Jackie and Lance are masters of their craft. I couldn't be more proud and excited to join them. I'm ready for what comes next.”

Fran Thompson, Managing Director and Executive Producer of Park Pictures London, added:

“I’ve been afan of Greg’s for a while now. His sensibilities  as a director are unmatched, and his unique branded filmmaking experience from his documentary and narrative work makes his commercial work so rich. He’s a very welcome addition to the Park Pictures family.”
