Supercell Challenges Players Around the World Together with the World’s Biggest Chess Community

A major partnership in the realm of strategy is fully underway. Supercell, the powerhouse behind gaming phenomena such as Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, has joined forces with Chess.com, for a period of strategy celebration.  

As the latest piece in the partnership, the Clash-maker has launched the digital ad puzzle Codemate where participants can earn in-game rewards by finding the winning moves. 

Inspired by the moves of a chess grandmaster, more than 50 different puzzle-based ads with varying difficulty levels will challenge both new and experienced chess players alike. This interactive global campaign turns chess puzzle-solving moves into Clash of Clans or Clash Royale in-game promo codes. The harder the puzzle, the better the reward. With the smartest minds being able to win between upwards of 250.000 to 1.000.000 gold and elixir to use in their Clash games. 

Sharing games with everyone 

The Codemate campaign now runs until the following days, featuring digital ads and New York-based billboards.

The puzzles are harder than they look, but if you come across them all it takes is to find the two winning moves on the chessboard and you will be thoroughly rewarded with in-game riches. 

Andre Toledo, CCO of DAVID New York, explains the inspiration behind the campaign:

"If you notice, chess moves actually look like promo codes, and as chess players love to solve chess puzzles, we decided to turn puzzle-solving moves into real promo codes for Clash of Clans in-game rewards."
