The Audience At Goteborg Film Festival Lets Go Of Control
Jan. 31, 2022
At Stora teatern in Gothenburg, an anticipating audience gathered yesterday to take part in the unique film experiment. They had come to be hypnotized in order to have an in-depth film experience during the screening of Land of Dreams.
During the Göteborg Film Festival, the audience has been invited to be hypnotized. The evening begins with the hypnotist Fredrik Praesto entering the stage. A hypnotic spiral is visible on the canvas, it slowly turns into a dot whilst Praesto instructs the audience to visualize an image for themselves and close their eyes. The audience is sent to a hypnotic state of mind, and then the film screening begins.
A press kit from the event is now available at www.goteborgfilmfestival.se/thcmedia/ including interviews from visitors (both in English and in Swedish). Also includes an interview with Jonas Holmberg, Artistic Director, Göteborg Film Festival, and footage from the hypnosis.
Upcoming screenings at The Hypnotic Cinema are:
Wednesday, February 2, at 5.45 pm at the Stora Teatern in Gothenburg of the film Memoria by Apichatpong Weerasethakul.
Sunday, February 6, at 16.45 at Stora Teatern in Gothenburg of the film Speak no evil by Christian Tafdrup.
