The Distillery Project and Meijer Show How Shopping is Easier With Stop and Go Service
Aug. 09, 2021
In a continuing effort to share the many ways consumers can shop Meijer, The Distillery Project is launching “Stop & Go,” a spot that shows the many options to traipsing through crowded, potentially germ-incubating, retail environments.
“Stop and Go” takes place in a Meijer’s parking lot. A nervous dad sits in the passenger seat as his teenage son practices driving and parking herky-jerky style. “Sometimes you need to spend more time in the car,” the announcer notes as dad picks up his phone and types something. The ad is promoting Meijer’s digital shopping app, which allows people to preorder and arrange curbside pickup. “Practice free pickup,” the announcer continues as a store worker responds to dad’s message and loads grocery bags into the hatchback. “Just order ahead in the Meijer app.” Meanwhile, dad continues to tighten up—he’s clutching a carton of eggs—as his boy attempts to navigate his way out of the parking spot.
During a time when essentials became scarce, and shopping became worrisome for some, Meijer doubled-down on its commitment to deliver groceries and staples right to customer’s homes and cars.
“Stop and Go” will air in six Midwestern states beginning August 1. It is part of a 4 x :15 broadcast TV package and part of a larger, year-long campaign for Meijer to promote its free pickup service. This is the second spot in the series after “Windows Down.”
