Troy University Launches the Lead Change Campaign
Oct. 07, 2021
Do you have what it takes to change the world? Troy University is staking its claim as the innovator in student leadership development with the launch of the new Lead Change campaign, further solidifying the University’s world-renowned reputation for developing leaders.
Troy has been developing leaders for decades, and this campaign is highlighting the University’s commitment to fostering leadership development.
Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., chancellor of Troy University said:
“There is a dire shortage of leaders in America—leaders with integrity, ability and vision. One of the most important things a university can do is prepare its students to become leaders. The Lead Change campaign aligns with Troy’s primary mission to prepare leaders who will take action to effect change in the world through servant leadership. We want our students to become leaders who have a sense of service and willingness to give back.”
Samantha Johnson, chief marketing officer, Troy University, said:
“This campaign puts a voice to our core strategy of building leaders for real-world change. Troy’s leadership issued a challenge—not only to students but to faculty, staff and the more than 170,000 alumni we have—to stretch ourselves, dream bigger, then do something to make those dreams real. It’s time to lead change,”
The University offers leadership education at every level including, but not limited to, minors, a Ph.D. in global leadership, campus organization activities and through real-world leadership opportunities for interns by partnering with major corporations. Troy’s course content is designed to equip students with the skills they need to thrive in a post-pandemic world. Last summer, approximately 5,000 people participated in the University’s first-ever free online leadership course. The University’s outreach to surrounding communities has also provided opportunities for students to have hands-on experience in giving back.
Troy’s focus on leadership also extends beyond the classroom. Students are given the opportunity to serve as leaders in the community through outreach programs organized by the Office of Civic Engagement. These programs range from opportunities to work with Campus Kitchens, Community Gardens, the Real Talk on Race Mentoring Project, and the Democracy Project.
The Lead Change campaign was produced in partnership with the University’s agency of record, Intermark Group. The campaign rolled out nationwide earlier this year and can be seen in multiple forms of media, including digital, social media, broadcast television, billboards and in print publications.
U.S. News & World Report recognizes Troy University among the top 20 Regional Universities in the South.
