Walter Campbell Joins MPC London as Creative Head of Business Development
Oct. 17, 2018
Walter Campbell, one of the industry’s most awarded Creative Directors and the mind behind Guinness’ ‘Surfer’ has announced he will join MPC London as Creative Head of Business Development.
Having worked in the industry on both agency and brand-side creative roles, Campbell’s position will provide a new offering for brand and agency clients of MPC London.
Campbell is known for subverting the notion of the typical TV commercial and has done so with spots like Volvo ‘Twister’, and Dunlop ‘Expect the Unexpected’. Working closely with Oliver Forder, Head of Business Development at MPC and former AMV BBDO colleague, the pair will look to subvert the notion of the typical post production house and develop an end-to-end offering for the modern advertising industry.
Walter Campbell comments:
“MPC used to be strictly post; today it’s an end-to-end creative and production solution. We pick up the project from wherever our clients’ capabilities end. Being here gives me the opportunity to work on ambitious jobs and interesting ideas, directly with brands, as well as with smart agencies and directors. MPC have always known how to craft the work. What people don’t know yet is that we also know how to make work that is effective: work that is memorable and moves people to act. So, I’m here to develop that side of things.”
Commenting on the new hire, Managing Director at MPC London, Jonathan Davies, says:
“We’re incredibly excited about the addition of Walter to the team. Many of us here have worked with him in some respect over the years but what’s most exciting is that he joins us at a time when this creative role at a VFX house is possible. Ten years ago, it would have been a different story. We couldn’t think of a better person for the job.”
Walter adds:
“I believe that I can make the biggest impact on my industry as part of the team at MPC. That’s something I’m hungry for and it’s clear there is ambition within these walls. I’m excited to be working with our immersive teams, our film production teams and our VFX artists around the network. Their sheer drive, their progressive mentality and collaborative will is phenomenal.”
