Wounded Warrior Project Honors Service in New 9/11 Campaign Marking 25 Years by Tilt Creative Studio

Twenty-five years after September 11, 2001, Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) is honoring the generation of veterans who answered the call to serve in the aftermath of the attacks with a new integrated campaign created in partnership with creative agency partner, Tilt Creative Studio.

The new campaign, "The Heart of the Warrior," recognizes that while 9/11 remains a defining moment in American history, its impact extends far beyond that day. For the men and women who chose to serve because of it, or were already serving when the attacks happened, the commitment to service didn’t end when their military careers did and neither should America’s commitment to them.

For younger generations who may know 9/11 primarily through history books, headlines or stories told by others, the anniversary presents a challenge: how do we make the connection between a moment in history and the veterans whose lives were forever shaped by it?

Tilt and WWP built the campaign around a simple truth: 9/11 inspired a generation to serve, but the heart of the warrior never stopped serving. Rather than relying solely on historical imagery or traditional narration, the campaign puts real warriors and their voices at the center. Across long- and short-form video, audio, social and digital, veterans share their personal reasons for serving, the experiences that shaped them and the ways their commitment to service continues today.

The result is a campaign that moves beyond remembrance to create a more personal connection between generations, inviting Americans to understand the lasting impact of 9/11 through the people who lived its aftermath and to honor their service through continued support.

Constance Eisle, Creative Director at Tilt Creative Studio said:

“‘The Heart of the Warrior’ is ultimately about showing that service is not something that ends when a uniform comes off. We wanted to create something rooted in the authentic experiences of warriors themselves, something that connects the history we remember with the people and stories we have a responsibility to support.”

The campaign, which Tilt Creative Studio led strategy, creative development, production and post-production, features six warriors and includes 59 creative deliverables.

Ron Carey, CEO at Tilt Creative Studio said:

“At its core, “The Heart of the Warrior” is a reminder that 25 years may have passed since 9/11, but the spirit of service it inspired lives on and so does the responsibility to stand behind those who answered the call. We are honored to partner with WWP to help them tell this crucial story to the newest generation.”
