Yale Transforms Keys into Romantic Symbol of Commitment in New Campaign by Valtech Radon

Exchanging keys has long been a milestone in any relationship, but with smart locks making physical keys a thing of the past, the romantic gesture is starting to fade away. In their new campaign by creative agency Valtech Radon, Yale has collaborated with a jewellery designer to reimagine the timeless ritual, creating Unison – a handmade bracelet fashioned from melted keys. Enabling couples to give their partner the keys to their home – to wear just in time for Valentine’s.

As Valentine’s approaches, so does the season for meaningful romantic gestures, and one of the most enduring is giving your significant other the keys to your place. However, as smart locks make life keyless and hassle-free, Yale wanted to offer a fresh take on the moving-in- together moment without losing the sentiment. Together with creative agency Valtech Radon, they decided to reimagine the ritual resulting in Unison – a bracelet made from melted keys, designed to be gifted when you're ready to lock things in – bundled with the Yale Linus® Smart Lock L2. The campaign is launched just in time for Valentine's Day.

Angelique Charbonnier, Director and Head of Marketing EMEIA, at Yale said:

"While smart locks make life more convenient – no more worrying about lost keys or whether the door is locked – keys still hold symbolic value for many people. With the Unison Bracelet and our campaign, we wanted to show that romance and modern security can coexist – this Valentine's Day, you can have both."

Behind the jewellery design is Alexandra Causic, a Stockholm-based designer known for her unique, handcrafted pieces. The bracelet features two interconnected keys, symbolising two lives coming together. The campaign focused on the unique design and the unprecedented bundle – a smart lock with a romantic piece of jewellery.

Frida Lind, PR Director at Valtech Radon said:

"Looking into pop culture, giving your partner the keys to your place is all over romcoms, TV shows and literature. Giving your partner a passcode, virtual key or adding their fingerprint to a system might not give the same vibe – even though everything else about smart locks is improving your life together. The Unison Bracelet unlocks a new way of saying ‘move in with me’ in an era of smart locks, and keeps romance alive."

The Unison Bracelet is a free, limited edition item bundled with the Yale Linus® Smart Lock L2. It will be available through Yale’s online store from January 28th, in Sweden, Germany, Italy, Spain, France and The Netherlands.
