HAMLET Sign Mixed Media Directing Duo WAAAW to Roster

Jul. 03, 2025

International production company HAMLET have signed French-Belgian directing duo WAAAW to their roster for representation in France, Belgium, Japan, APAC and China.

WAAAW is comprised of Jack Antoine Charlot and Sidney Van Wichelen who are known for their genre-blending style bringing a dreamlike cinematic magic to their work.  With a love for live action, animation and VFX, they create films where live action is blended with the surreal, resulting in emotionally charged and narratively driven pieces, with humor, heart, and the occasional dose of chaos.

The duo have worked with a plethora of well known global brands turning McDonald’s burgers into exploding space vortexes, Adidas sneakers into alien motherships invading Earth, Halo’s Master Chief into a manic roommate for Asus, and Tate Modern’s art into surreal life-journeys for Swatch.

WAAAW draw inspiration from a rich supply of sources ranging from real-life absurdities to fiction cinema and contemporary art—drawing influence from the likes of Maurizio Cattelan, Erwin Wurm, Charles Ray, Bertrand Lavier, and Satoshi Kon to keep their creative world weird, personal, and unmistakably their own.

Jack Antoine Charlot, one half of WAAAW said:

"Ruben and Jason have such an awesome track record , and they’re just genuinely fun to discuss with. We love having open conversations with our producers , a shared hunger to push boundaries and make wild stuff happen."

Sidney Van Wichelen, one half of WAAAW added:

"Plus, the roster is seriously cool: Julien & Quentin, Angelo Cerisara, Ludo Gontrand, BRTHR… just packed with crazy talents. Hamlet’s relentless pursuit of excellence and the opportunity to grow our reel not just in Belgium, but also in the French and Chinese markets, were key factors in our decision."

Jason Felstead, co-founder of Hamlet commented:

“We’re really excited to welcome WAAAW to the roster. Sid and Jack Antoine have this great way of blending live-action with 2D and 3D animation - it all feels effortless and super intentional. Their use of visual effects isn’t just for show; it really supports the emotion and storytelling, which I love. There’s a clarity and boldness to their style that really stands out, and we’re looking forward to teaming up with them across different markets.”
